Medora & the Maah Daah Hey Mountain Bike Trail Conditions

The Maah Daah Hey runs roughly 140 miles through the North Dakota badlands and the Little Missouri National Grassland, linking the units of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It is one of the longest continuous singletrack trails in the country and the riding is unlike anywhere else on the plains: banded clay buttes, cottonwood draws and long exposed benches. The bentonite clay here is the whole story — it is fast and grippy when dry and turns to unrideable gumbo within minutes of rain, so timing is not optional.
