Is It Rideable is a small, independent project built by a rider. We collect as little as we
can, use it only to run the app and the features you ask for, and we never sell your data. This
page explains what we collect and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your email address โ to sign you in (we use one-time codes, not passwords) and, only if you
opt in, to send trail alerts or our conditions report.
- Approximate location โ if you use "center on me," your device shares your location with the
map so it can center there. We use it in the moment to show nearby trails; we don't build a location
history of you.
- Things you create in the app โ saved trails, notification preferences, trail condition
reports you submit, and a display name if you set one (your reports show your display name, never your
email).
- Usage & device data โ basic, privacy-respecting analytics (page views, which features are
used) to understand what's working, plus how you first arrived (a referral code or campaign tag). This
is our own first-party measurement, not cross-site tracking.
- Payment information โ if you buy a Season Pass, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your
card. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a customer ID and your subscription
status.
How we use it
- To provide the app: show conditions, save your trails, run your account.
- To send only the emails or notifications you turn on (and let you turn them off anytime).
- To process your Season Pass and support billing questions.
- To understand usage and make the product better.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that help us run the app, and only as needed:
- Supabase โ our database, sign-in, and hosting.
- Stripe โ payments and subscription billing.
- Resend โ sending the emails you've opted into.
- Vercel โ hosting and delivering the website.
- Google Analytics โ aggregate usage analytics.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral
advertising. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of
people using the service.
Cookies & local storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (like units and
which map layer you last used), and analytics cookies to measure usage. You can clear these anytime in your
browser; some features (like staying signed in) need them to work.
Your choices & rights
- Emails: every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can toggle notifications in
your account.
- Delete your account & data: open your account in the app and choose "Delete my account
& data." We'll process it and email you when it's done.
- Access or corrections: contact us (below) and we'll help.
California residents: you may have rights to know, delete, and correct the personal
information we hold, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We don't sell or share your
information for advertising. To make a request, use the account-deletion option or contact us.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you request deletion, we remove your account
and associated data. We may retain limited records where we're required to (for example, basic billing
records).
Security
We use reputable providers and sensible safeguards to protect your data. No online service can promise
perfect security, but we work to keep your information safe.
Children
Is It Rideable isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change, and revise the "last updated" date above.
